Going camping with my KLR..ok Urban Style.

Within the last year I have purchased a 09 KlR 650. I have upgraded this bike to the standards of a Lincoln LS. Now, here is my issue. I want to go camping, with my bike and girlfriend. I also want to have a tent, 2 chairs, and a 10x 10 awning. NOW, I have put 12vt. power adaters for the cell phone, GPS, Lap top, and 2 Lithium Ion battery speakers that push 80 dbls. a piece..(it fits in my trunk, so we can watch a 17" monitor for 5hours,and hear it for 8) I also have a 12vlt tire compressor, wich I plain to inflate two chairs. So with the wireless mouse, im just asking for some input on a good 8x8 awning that fits into a small area. Thanks Guys, I know you wont let us down.

Are you sure you want to go camping with all of that stuff
I would suggest just a tent, sleeping bags and the great outdoors

If it were me, I'd camp where there are picnic tables, or use rocks for chairs. I'd skip the laptop and enjoy the great outdoors. Or, enjoy the ride and stay in a hotel.

God Bless,

The closest I've ever seen to an awning that might work for motorcycle camping is the Kelty Noah. I don't know how small it packs.

What chairs are you using? I would think that inflatables might not be very durable over the long run. You might look into the Alite Monarch or the REI FlexLite.

I have both; the Alite has always been comfortable, but it's getting hard to get these old bones out of it. That, and I tend to tip over backwards after several beers. The last straw was when I tipped over a couple of weeks ago and landed on my sorta permanently separated shoulder. Lay on the ground in agony for a few minutes, but didn't spill any beer.

I've got the REI in beta-test...

one thing you can do is get a decent sized tarp and stretch it over the bike and pin it to the ground on either side for a tent, each getting your own side of the bike to sleep on. same for your awning/gazebo thingy, get creative with a tarp and some sticks. as for the movie and the laptop...you're doing it wrong. if you want to go camping then do it. if you want all the comforts of home stay there.

Eh, if he enjoys watching a movie in the great outdoors, what's the harm in that? Let the man do what he enjoys!

As far as an awning, sorry, I have no good info

It is just to show people what you can do with less, and still have all the ementities of home with great gas milage and the ability to go off road if you choose. Thanks for your input.

Im an old school MXer, and all my friends have Hardley Dayvisions. So at the next bike show I get offererd to go to I would like to step up my game, considering the last one I went to a fellow rider asked me for tools so he could fix his "Hardly Rideable" and I was on my bare stock KLR. I would like to twist some heads just for $hitz and giggles too.
