Any luck welding the head?

I just purchased a 2005 KLR 650 that the previous owner allowed to freeze. It has a crack in the head on the cam shaft chain side. Has anyone had any luck welding the water jacket? Does anyone have a used head they would like to sell?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome, you might want to make sure there's not any other damage in the engine from freezing before spending money on the cyl. head. Ebay will probably be your best bet for parts. Good Luck.

Thanks. Missed a head on E-bay today but there will be more. I will keep my eyes open and in the mean time I have a friend that is going to try and weld the crack in the water jacket. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
