engine tempurature

hi, I have a 2002 klr 650, was wondering what the "normal" temperature reading is roughly suppose to be on a moderately warm day, mine seems to run between 1/4 and 1/2 , on the highway in the summer and 1/8 to 1/4 in the winter, is that seem about right, thx guys

Have a read at www.watt-man.com - for a good explanation of how the KLR cooling system functions.

Sounds typical to me, mayor4u, but . . . I consider anything outside the RED zone, "typical!"

I've had two KLR's and both stayed about like yours unless in a lot of stop and go traffic. Then it will go a bit above halfway activating the cooling fan.

Get a Thermo- bob and it will run the same temperature most of the time.
