10K on the 06 in 10 mo.

Bought 'er new January 27 2006, turned this over yesterday. 10K in ten months ain't too bad, considering I share the love with another bike - and when I first had the KLR I shared it between three bikes.

That is impressive! I've had mine about the same amount of time and am not even half of your milage. You're my hero! Seriously.

Ah..... that ain't nuthin' But thanks!

There's guys that do 100K + a year.

My personal best is 50K in 2 years on a 2002 Yamaha FZ1. I'm slowing down a bit now though, since so many of my miles are slow speed, off road or gravel miles; versus the high speed asphalt I have been doing on the (now sold) sport bike.

I think that is one of the reasons for my low milage. I haven't started doing any touring yet (that'll change soon, wife MSF class is in Dec.), I live 10 miles from work and it is literally 5-10 mile to anything I need. There is also lots of off-road near my house. I just don't have occasion to do big miles. I know I could make occasion, but that probably won't happen until my kids get a bit older (6, 8 and 10 currently.) BUT, I finally convinced my wife to quit her job so possibilities are beginning to open!

That is some impressive mileage. Are you trying to keep up with my Dad. He has had his RT beemer for 3 years and has put over 90,000 on it, and thats not counting what he has put on his KLR.
I wish we could ride 12 months out of the year, but come December, we must take off our wings and read about other people riding.... :s0123

The shortest distance between two points is a damn shame.......

I rode Broke Back mountain, and my a$$ is killing me.....

Yeah, I kinda exaggerated a little, BUT, you do have a longer riding season then us, but, then again, we have had some pretty mild winters here the last few years.
