i am planning on buying a KLR650 later this year .looking for pros and cons on the bike. if i want a dual sport bike it seems to be the only game in town.

Don't let the DR guys hear you say that!

Or, the Huskie Terra guys, or the BMW Single guys, or the Honda 650 guys, or the KTM guys, or the . . . I could go on!

The KLR has pluses and minuses, but . . . it AIN'T the only game in town, IMHO.

Welcome mojo.

Like D says there are a multitude of dual sports to choose from. The KLR is a good bike for the buck but do some research and hands on comparisons first.

Gray-haired riders donít get that way from pure luck.

yeah mostly depends what you plan on riding the most, for me it was whatever i could possibly get myself into, and for an all around klr is the ticket.

I have owned my klr for over a year, this bike is really top heavy,I also found out a few issues like the doo-hickey to name one, that being said I like the bike and am now a KLR fan,do your homework then make a decision good luck.
