What is the "wart" above the headlight on the mili

I don't have a KLR (yet) but I really like the idea of doing it up in desert colors. Looking at the pictures on Hayes website you can see some sort of "thingy" right above the headlight on the front fairing. (which by the way looks like it comes off the KLR250?) Does anyone know what that is? Camera maybe?

I was told in is an infra red emitter for the night vision goggles.

Anybody confirm this?

Baja Designs Tecate Light is probably the closest civillian counterpart. I'm sure you can put any bulb in there you want... HID, IR etc...
