.net is down again?

Doesn't surprise me but it makes me sad. Its a KLR thing and it should function better.

Yesterday it had a message about transfer or something, so I was thinking that MAYBE the old files were going to be brought back like I heard over and over again, or maybe it wasn't going to be a "temp" forum anymore..

Today..

You know the days of the old forum I think are gone, but I like the way we all get along here too. So if it never comes back that will be ok. I think there is more to that story than we have heard, but that's just my thinging.

Just checked again. "Cannot find server". Looks like it happened again.
Some guys had a tech day going over there down in Phoenix & I committed to it.
If it don't come back then I will have to borrow some tools & do the doo all by myself.

Why would you move servers on the busiest days of the week? Not very good network management IMO. The weekends are better for maintenance and such. There were more than one Tech Days being discussed. I was replying to one when the forum shut down. If forums had a democractic vote...

I'm buying parts from Dorper through that board. I've been waiting to hear if my MO got through to him.

As for the timing on the server move
Nobody moves servers on a Friday, with the 'expectation' that it will all be done and the site back up and running in 4-12 hrs. If he was having server problems, I'll have to direct him to the company that hosts the TMW website for my friend Mike. Many years of trouble free service, and that's with bandwidth upgrades to the terabyte level, several thousand members worldwide, and millions of hits every quarter.

Guys .net has had problems with going down for years. I used to be on there many times every day, I found .net because someone had posted on another site about Glenn having trouble.
I have moved into this place and put .net in the past, everyone is welcome here, and everyone seems to get along really well here. I know there is not as much traffic here as other sites, but we do have a clean place to post, and I haven't found any question I couldn't get answered here.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

+1 daddyjoe-a clean forum.I go to .net and adv.But for family and friends we go here.I can
cruise here with no worry when little ones are looking over my shoulder. This site will continue to grow as long as it stays the way it is.It will draw the type of people who want calm conversations and technical support without all of the corresponding BS you get on alot of the other sites.Besides,if one wants that occasionally, the other sites are always (oops) almost always there

Happy Trails

Mike

Glenn, if you read this, I hope you have recovered from your injuries and have your bike back together.

The shortest distance between two points is a damn shame.......
