Extended warranty

Just made the deal with the dealer for my 07 klr. I pick it up Sat. I was wondering if the extended warranty is worth it. Since the warranty is minimal in what it covers (basically factory defect), is it worth paying the extra money on a tested and proven design? The main flaw that I can find that could be covered would be the doohicky (even thought the factory and the dealers don't consider it a defect) and I will aftermarket that myself.

99.9 % of the people on the forums will tell you it is a waste of good money. Yes I am part of the 99.9.

Yea thats what I thought, guess I get to spend the money on fun stuff instead. The dealer was talking up the value of the extended warranty as a good option for when I want to trade the bike in.(sorry but this bike is here to stay!!!!!!!!) Thanks for your input.

Extended warranties are usually a waste of good money that could be applied to other things for the bike. The KLR's are pretty simple to work on if you have any type of mechanical abilities.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.
