'07 KLR 650 for $5K OTD... Should I do it?

I just had my local Kawi dealer offer to sell me a brand new, black and silver '07 for $5,000 out the door. Should I take him up on his offer or not?

Should I or Shouldn't I . . . ?

Greetings!

I got a 2007 KLR (Black) for $4,499 plus tax and license, $4,800 out the door in Boise, Idaho.

Good Luck

My black and silver 07 was $5000 OTD with an EXO 400 helmet in the mix. I personally thought it was a good deal, as otherwise I would have had to travel a few hours to purchase another one, and gas ain't cheap anymore. It all boils down to whether or not you feel it is a good deal for "you". I am happy with my purchase, and now have my buddy pretty much ready to go buy the last red silver 07 they have on the floor. I would offer him 4800 or 4900 OTD and see what he says. Never hurts to haggle if you think you can do better. Tell him to throw in a new helmet for that price, one of the NICE ones.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

How about this?

How 'bout $6,000 OTD for a 2008 KLR 650?

That's a good price but they should be able to do a bit better.

Yeah, I figure it they're able to throw a price like that at you without any hassling over it, they can likely do better.. Maybe I could get them to toss in a nice long warranty.

Then again since those bikes haven't changed at all in two decades, I might just go with a nice used one instead. So far I've found a 2006 with 3500 miles for $4000, a 2005 with 2900 miles for $3900, and a 2004 with 5400 miles for $3300.

DXKLR.. tell your buddy mine is up for grabs... Evansville, Indiana area. Like new??? LMAO... and what's the point of buying a KLR if it remains like new?

Anyway, it's got war wounds, but it's all minor scratches and stuff from small layovers. It's never been actually crashed. It is what it is... a ridden KLR.

It's an 06' lime green with 7800 miles. Few thousand on rear Mefo, fresh front Mefo. Right mirror hit a rock on a layover, never liked it anyway thus never replaced. Upper chain guard self destructed... found no need to replace. Could use a new front brake lever.. ball broke off on rock.

I'll give it up for $3200, that'll give you some leeway to patch her up if you want.

I'll let him know. He still has not made up his mind what he wants to do.. Is the world's worst procrastinator..LOL And couldn't talk my brother in law into it, as a matter of fact, I have to meet my brother in law at the dealership and ride his new VTX 1300 home for him. He don't have his liscense yet and not yet comfortable on it. So, I'll do my best to talk Frank into considering your 06.
