Maui Dual Sport Adventures!

Aloha! Hope this is not against the rules but just wanted to get the word out to fellow KLR'ers about a new company I started here in Maui called Maui Moto Adventures.

We got four brand new KLR650's and just got done outfitting them with Mototech Crash Bars, Mototech Skid Plate, Barkbusters, FMF Powercores, and tank and tail bags to have a real adventure ride around this beautiful island. We do guided dual sport rides up the volcano and around the rainforest side of the island as well as rentals of the bikes if you want to explore on your own.

The riding here is truly incredible and like no other place. I would constantly get stopped by other riders visiting the island asking where they could get a dual sport while they were here and since there are no options for that decided to start up this new business.

Since no one wants to fly with a bag full of gear all the riding gear is included. Alpine Stars Gore-tex boots (Full and shorty), River Road Armored Riding Pants, Icon Waterproof Jacket, AFX Dual Sport Helmet, and Thor waterproof gloves.

If you ever make it out to Maui let me know!

Cool idea and nice pics!
Could you PM me how much it will cost to send my KLR to you for a holiday? It is a nicely farkled 2011 that doesn't like winter snow very much.
I might be interested in coming too if it doesn't cost too much.
Regards....justjeff

Yeah, it's tempting - especially since my sister is inviting Mrs. Acid and myself to Hawaii next summer for another stint at her timeshare...

We may be there for two weeks this time - one week on Kauai, and the other on either Maui or Oahu.

Thanks for the info Mendo, I have been to Maui twice in the last 3 years for a winter vacation & I absolutely love it there. I hope to be going back next winter sometime. I said that I would like to rent a bike for a few days the next time Iam there but wasnt to keen on riding a street bike, I will definately look you up next time. Are you located in Kahului?

Awesome! Let me know if you make it over to Maui! Can even pick you up from the airport if you want to just do a day trip flying in from another island. Some great unique riding over here!

Sounds like you might have a winner.
We travel often and I will stop by on our next visit.
Where was that second image taken?
I'm wondering "Mendo" where did that come from?

The waterfall pic is one of many off the Road To Hana.

Mendo is short for the town of Mendocino in Northern California where I am from. Hope you can make it out with us!
