Starter Switch Malfunctioning

Has anyone had a problem with the starter button not wanting to work? Went out this morning to start the bike and the starter barely turned as if the battery were drained. Thinking that was the problem, I hooked up the charger, but it showed the battery fully charged. After trying another time or two, it fired right up. This has happened three times today so far. Am going to take it to the dealer Monday and get them to check it out, it is after all still under warranty.

Sorry to tell you but the battery isn't covered under "most" of the time. Maybe your dealer is better to deal with. Have you checked the water in the battery? I would also check the connections.

The battery is fine. I think it is the switch itself. I have to mess with the wires at the switch on the handle bars to get it to work sometimes.

Not knowing how you bypassed the switches you may want to check there first. It might be impossible for the bypass create your situation, however whenever I mess with stuff and things go wrong its usually the stuff I messed with LOL.

Dang, I think the people upstairs are having a party.

Yeah that crossed my mind, I simply ran a jumper on the plug up at the forks. I can simply undoe it to check it. The odd thing is, is like it is losing power when you hit the switch. Sometimes after two tries even the neautral light goes out. That may bring us back to a bad battery. Wouldn't be the first time. Man I hate electrical gremlins. I suck at electronic trouble shooting. LOL
