Any Info

Hi everyone, just recently bought a tidy 1988 KLR 650.
I am just wondering if anyone has any known faults, things I should look out for, tip, tricks etc.
I would appreciate it if anyone could help with anything.

Cheers

Nothing out of the ordinary; check what you would on any 27-model-years-old bike!

The balancer tensioning idler shaft lever ("doohickey") is questionable, systemically, on these models, but . . . after 27 model years, Bayesian probability says it's likely good for the bike's service life.

A lot depends upon the condition of storage of the bike, e.g., tire condition, fuel deterioration, all fluid degradation, etc. If you can certify all that's in good condition; ride on! Enjoy!

Wow. Anybody else on here have a KLR that old? That's cool. Fitting the description of "tidy," it must have been taken care of pretty well over the years to have been around so long. How many miles? Hope it continues to perform, klralex77!
