Now I'm hearing this.

It involves a whopping...5 ( five ) bikes made one afternoon that the sidestand spring retainer wasn't welded properly. If the spring pops off the sidestand could hang down.

Hmm, maybe this is the recall rumor going around a month ago? I will check mine, but I would rather have it fixed than to have Kawasaki buy it back and have to start from scratch ... I just finished my break-in.

There should be a list of the VIN's that are affected, check with your dealer, I am sure you should be able to find the info somewhere on the net.

Here are my '08 welds. They both suck!
I haven't heard anything from Kawasaki, but I'm concerned and will probably pay a welder to fix them. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than take it back to the dealer; they really are a bunch of clowns.

WOW.. those are some really crappy welds. So much for craftsmanship and fit and finish.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

I thought fit and finish went out the door with the first KLR ever made?
