KLROTM Guidelines

KLR of the Month, for those scratching their heads.... If we want to make calendars an annual thing, this would be a great way to find our "models" and if not it will just be fun crowning our monthly winners.
As with any contest, there must be rules. Here are some guidelines I think will help keep us on track. All of this, of course, is pending an AOK from admin but lets see what kind of interest we get for a monthly contest.

1. Nominees must be KLRforum members in good standing.
2. Submissions should be recent pics and have some relevance to the month in question (no snow pics in July, for example)
3. There can be more than one nomination per month per member but you can only nominate YOURSELF once. Others can nominate you but only one of your pics will make the calendar. After you win you are ineligible to win for the rest of the year.
4. Absolutely no plagiarism of photos of others, no copyrighted material or pics you find while surfing... These must be pics of our members bikes to avoid all copyright infringements, calendars will be available publicly!
5. Monthly submissions will be limited to the # of polling slots available on site. If there are 30 possible choices we will cut it off there. If less the end date for submissions will be the 20th and the rest of the month for voting. Results will be tallied at the end of the month, winner announced and dubbed KLR of the month. Maybe just bragging rights or if something comes up for some type of prize, all the better.

Since we lost a month of voting I suggest we pick 2 the first month to make up for the one we lost. If all this flies with admin and you guys and gals wanna do it, lets start the photos coming in!!

Sounds good to me!

Sounds like the majority of the December - February submissions will be from folks who live in the warmer climates, because right now, my own KLR is tucked away in a corner of the garage for its winter nap. Sure, I'll start it up a couple times just to move things around, but that's about it until some time in March when it gets a little warmer.

I thought exactly the opposite since we don't get many chances for "snowy" pictures in CA...
I think lots of guys from colder climates will have chilly pics !

That could be, too.

I know there's opportunity for snowy pics in the area of California where I grew up (the Owens Valley area) - and when I was younger, I used to ride when it was really cold...

...mainly because I used an old Suzuki TC185 to deliver the Los Angeles Times and the Inyo Register. LOL

Yeah, it snowed here last week,

but it is rare. I can drive just minutes to the snow and ski but I, like you, rarely take my bike out of the garage when it is cold. It was 71 degrees today but no snow pics!
Lots of those guys that live with months of snow out of the year ride their bikes in conditions I would not but I am spoiled.....

Lol, actually mine get's parked sometime in October and usually stays in the garage until mid April or so. Once the ice is on the road I switch over to 4 wheels... Need me a Ural!

We're trying to get a separate area set up for a KLR Bike of the Month type of 'contest'

Hang tight.

"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "
