Slowing down a 06

I purchased an o6 with 415 miles on it, I am gettig ready to go out to colorada to due some mountain riding and would like to shorten up first gear for some slower rock crawling/ climbing. I am not worried about top end I will use this bike for trail riding and Campground transportation. Anyone have any experiance with changing the sprockets. I would like to use the exsisting chain.

Thanks in advance

Putting a 14T on the front will make a world of difference and preserve your chain. Also get one of the prevailing lock nuts from Eaglemike.
Good luck & have a great time. Lotsa great guys in Colorado.

With a 14 tooth front sprocket you should be pleased with the low end, but you will be running at higher rpms at 60-70.
I had a 14 on but I do too much road riding for it. Some guys will run a 15 or 16 until they get to the woods and chage it to a 14 or 13 when they get there.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
