Those that work best depend upon your application. Treads vary from the pavement-friendly, to the "50-50" (half road and half off-road), to the off-road centric "knobbies."

You can ask a knowledgeable motorcycle tire dealer, research tire manufacturers' literature, or surf tire reviews on the Internet to find appropriate tires for your application.

Many tires will be designated "Tubeless" but it's okay to run a tube in a tubeless tire.

Do a search here on the forums. You'll find lots of tire info.

I just ordered a Shinko 244 rear from JC Whitney. $54 bucks, to my door.
I like the 244, because, well...you just never can tell when you might go off the asphalt, and the 244 is there if you need it!
