Now that would be fun. I'd like to try something like that, maybe not as far as ALaska though.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "

In my younger days, early 1980's, a friend and I considered the possibility of taking a Push-Rod Honda 50, fitted with a very light, homemade side-car, to and thru Yellowstone Nat'l Park from Lander, WY!

Old Faithful Inn, is after-all Only 200 miles from home, 4 hours by normal means of transport.

In the end, we never did that trip. TOO Narrow of Roads, Too much Traffic, even then. TOO Wide of moving road block. I grumble about the amount of bicycles we encounter, nowadays!

We both still regret, that we did not have the nerve to at least, Try.

A friend of mine has seen a true scooter, ridden all the way from New York state, in Alaska!

GO, Grom Fans!

Nope,
Wasn't my bike, wasn't even the friends bike!
It was owned by the H.S. shop teacher, who installed the 195F. thermostat in a STOCK KLR, with-out any kind of by-pass, this spring. (his bike, his experiment!) I will try to up-sell him to a Thermo-Bob 2!

Being a 195?-196? model, I guess it was Well Proven to be a Non-oil Burner!
I do remember that shop teacher riding that side-hack to and from the local H.S. almost all winter, the first year he was in town. I'm glad he is still in the area, we bounce ideas off each-other every now and then.
