From what I heard the Jardine pipe is really good. Studebaker makes one too and it comes with a jet kit as well. This is the link to the Studebaker pipe on KLR650.com. All you need to do is buy an air cleaner as well to complete the upgrade. These links are from www.klr650.com.

Here is another place to get parts from.

I ordered a Jardine from the local dealer. It cost me a little more but klr650.com was back ordered. Paid $318 for it and will be getting it installed on Thursday.

KLR650 will probably not carry the Jardine anymore, as to the fact the studebaker one they sell now is an identical replacement for 100 bux less. My buddy has it on his 05 and you can not tell one difference between his studebaker and my Jardine other than his is completely chromed. No tarnishing yet even the mid pipe looks great. There is a one year warranty on them too. You get the pipe, jet kit and after market filter delivered for just under $250. There is no shipping on orders over 150 bux. If you go That route, I can tell you now as for jetting all you will need to do is put two #4 stainless washers under your stock needle and leave the 148 Main alone.
Or buy a KLX650 needle and a 140 Main jet from Kaw dealer and install those. Put the eclip on the second notch down on the KLX needle. I have a 142 main right now and I am still quite rich out the exhaust.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Any one have any experience with the new Super Trapp IDS2, Big Gun, FMF, or Two Brothers? I'm leaning toward the Super Trapp but I don't want the bike to loud.

The stock jet for a 08 is 145 . Pre 08 was 148 .
I have the Jardine on my 08 and stock jet(145) with the klx needle on the second clip from the top.Air/fuel screw out 2 turns. I did have to drill some holes in the top of airbox as it needed more air , now it runs AWESOME !

Yes, your absolutely right about the 145. We have got to get two seperate forums for 08's and pre 08's. I keep passing recommendations thinking in terms of my 07. I also added 6 one inch holes to the top of my airbox the other day, but have not had a chance to see what kind of difference that made. Thanks for the heads up on the 08 main and what you found that worked well with that setup.

I think you'll find the FMF Q2 the quietest, good luck finding one in stock though.

I just put a supah trap IDS2 on my 08 yesterday. I like the way it sounds up to about 3500rpm; above that it is a little annoying. I don't know if I'll keep it or spend the money on the FMF. Cary has my spare head and cylinder for some TLC (685 & stage 2 head), so I don't think I'll want the stock exhaust back on.
