killswitch drama on my 1988 klr650
my bike would start no worries n idle great but soon as I tried to select 1st gear it would stall. it turned out the previous owner had bypassed the kickstand killswitch properly but he also tried to bypass the clutch killswitch but he had soldered the wrong wires together duhh. so I read a few posts on this forum n worked out the correct way to bypass it so I soldered the right wires together n hey presto we were all systems go.
if anyone is interested if you trace the clutch killswitch wires back to under the speedo cluster n un plug them then cut the 2 wires with the stripe on them n leave the solid green wire where it is n just solder the 2 wires with the stripes(1 is pink with stripe n the other one is black with stipe) together you will bypass it n be able to start in any gear(sometimes that's a good thing but sometimes its not so good)I just want to say this is the best klr site(forum)ive been on keep up the good work n keep the help coming... cheers
STAY UPRIGHT N KEEP RIDING, THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN HITTING THE TRAILS N HAVING A BALL DOING IT......
