Maybe a scuba mod would be better? ;-)

I don't think our 'KLR snorkel removal' mod would be adequate.

Dear Lord.

Talk about the herd mentality. First dude goes in n' falls over in a high and fast current.
Nearly swept away. So everyone follows.

I'd certainly love to be the guy who made it across so to speak. I know quite a few
made it across in the video. I mean, for my own level of skill, experience, and
forethought. (all are probably very low) I'd be in a group approaching that spot
and immediately start looking for the widest (lower avg water level) spot to cross
(lower speed water flow too) even if I hadda go a quarter mile either way. (know
the depth of the water compared to the height of the lowest opening on the intake)

Dunno. I just woulda not tried that spot, that day. Too nervy.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeap

That was pretty entertaining. No way I would have attempted that crossing.

packnrat,
If you are riding a KLR650, you are no-longer riding a 230 pound 'dirt bike'.
They just don't respond the same to obstacles, much less 'vertical' handlebars, under water!
Ride safe.

Agreed: too many sharp, irregular surfaces that could cause loss of control or a punctured tube. You would be better off using the floundering, dismounted riders themselves as a pathway: just avoid the helmets as they're very slick when wet.

Just pick a straight line, stay on the throttle and let the bars do their thing...
