Any reason not to go with a sealed battery vs. an add water type?

I went with a Sears Diehard gold - sealed. Was a bit more then the Yuasa via mail, but I needed it and figure there is always a Sears around if I need to warranty it.

been good to go - got it in March

I drained/filled my stock battery 3 times before it finally quit functioning properly. Got the sealed one from Battery's Plus that is an exact size replacement and wondered why I didn't do it from day one. I now consider the battery swap to be the first mod anyone should do. It's cheap enough and a far better battery. Especially if your bike experiences frequent naps while offroading like mine used to do it's first year. I also think a lot of water was evaporated during really hot weather.

There is another option available that adds more amps, but has to be turned sideways and some retrofitting is needed to make it work. Not my choice, but many do it.

My 08 KLR (bought in Oct '08) works with stock battery until yesterday it just hadn't any more power to crank start the bike. So far I had twice refill the water level and found like any others, the stock battery just runs dry quickly. Time to get maintenence free battery. Ride Far Ride Safe
