08 K.l.r. Stopped Running

My new KLR has 232 miles on it and quite running yesterday on my way to work. It is acting like its not getting fuel. If I let it sit for a few minutes it will fire up and run poorly. It sounds to me like a fuel filter or just plain crappy gas. It still has the original fuel in it from when I took delivery of the bike. I brought it back to the dealership yesterday.

Yeah, sounds like bad fuel with water or junk in it. Let us know what they find out.

Unless you put an inline filter on the bike, it won't have a filter, short of the lil screen that is on the fuel tube inside the tank.

We had an 08 quit on us on the Northwestern Ontario Icebreaker run last month.....

Similar symtoms, however we believe it was either due to the two river crossing that may have created moisture in the plug wire and or the plug was a dud.

Anyway after the 12 expert mechanics on the ride all came up with the solution, we had the bike running and we were off.

Hope you get your fixed and up and running .... riding time is a waseting

08 KLR stopped running

Well the dealership contacted me and told me that they had flushed the fuel system and took the bike on a 20 mile ride (ya right ! ) and its running fine. They want me to pay $79.00 for 1 hour labor. I told them I was born at night but not last night. I am heading there after work today.
