Post what year klr?

well looking to buy a klr.
but what year.
looks like there is a conspiracy by the dealers as NOBODY has lower prices then any other dealers. all the same.
only advantage to the buyer would be the county/city sales tax rates.

even the unsold years (13-14) are going for full price.
some (dealer lots) used have "ok" pricing.

used privet seller? burned out/broken/???

any input to help decide on what i should look for in a bike?
sure the doohickey (factory fixed by what year?).
i understand the brakes can lack confidence?
some years have been know to burn oil?

would rather not do a loan, but a newer one would require such.
older bike. no loan....but.......how much in repairs? lack of reliability?

a perfect body is not required. seeing as i just might dump it at some point anyhow. plan on doing many trails. but seeing as long rides to get someplace, so a pavement capable bike is needed. second choice is the honda xl...but low fuel cap.

and it looks like for every one item for the other brands the klr has many choices of the same venue.
so should be easy to fix, change, play with, etc.

Buy a low-mileage, well-maintained, nicely-farkled used one.

There are two rules for being successful in life.

Rule 1: Never tell others everything you know.

sad but none even close to where i live.

only close ones (under 200 miles) are new for full price. or older than 10 years. high millage bikes.

if i were to go 200 miles from home to pay $4 grand for a 2001 bike, might as well pay $7 grand for a new bike much closer to home.

have not seen any with farkles around here.

Hey Pack, I picked up a bone stock 07 with 4k miles on it for 3 grand. Have to agree with Dan Diego, find one with low miles with lots of the stuff and farkles already done. Cycle trader, ebay and craigslist are good hunting places.
