The day that you tarry is the day that you lose.
Sunshine or thunder, a man will always wonder,
Where the fair wind blows.

I've got the Nelson-Rigg "Silver Streak" bags - essentially the same thing - and like them well enough. Easy on and off. I don't like a lot of stuff on the bike, so I only put them on when needed.

Got two sizes of matching tail bag - big and little - never used the big one, but it'll hold a lot if needed. The little one pretty much stays on the bike for everyday.

Was at a Cabela's last week and bought a pair of Plano "Magnum Field Boxes" that shold be pretty easy to mount. They are big toploaders and will hold a lot of stuff in the dry. They are not nearly as substantial as the Pelican boxes, so I doubt if they will withstand a really serious lay-down -- but I don't plan to do that and if so, a cracked box will be the least of my problems. Around $20 apiece.

Whatever, relocating the taillights will make it a lot better.

I had a friend buy me a set of side racks from EBAY for like $60 (I don't do ebay or paypal personally). Good fit and surprisingly substantial. They'll work fine for my boxes.

Most interested in seeing your racks/boxes. Pretty sure the other guys here would too. I'm not set up to post pics, but I'll bet someone who is will be happy to if you email to them. Any takers?

(If they're copper, I'd prabably lock them on!)

I just put a set of the Cortech Sport bags on my 08 and I love them. They look great and fit well.
