Passed Motorcycle Safety Course

I went to the MSP this weekend, and passed! In PA if you pass the class you get your motorcycle endorsement. It was over four days, Thursday & Friday 1800 to 2045, Saturday & Sunday 1330 to 1800. The first two days were book work and videos, I received a 100% on the written test. The last two days were spent on the range, I learned a whole bunch and have been putting them to use. The instructors had a great sense of humor. When it can time to be assigned bikes, they asked who road in on the KLR. I raised my hand, instructor said I have the perfect bike for you. I was given a DR200 for the range work. God is that bike small, me, I'm 6-2, about 290lbs. I felt like all I needed was some make-up and a red nose and I could have been in the circus. Overall I felt the course was great and I learned a ton. The hardest thing for me was doing the figure 8ís in the box.

Congrats on passing. Try to keep those good habits sharp and watch out for everyone else on the road. Our instructor did a figure 8 in the smallest box with his Harley full dresser. Scraped the pegs all the way around on both sides, LOL. By the end of the day I was scraping my boot toe on my KLR.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Congrats. May well be the best time and $$ you've ever invested.

The secret to the box? Don't look down.

Congrats!

I took mine last September here in NY. Same setup basically, except only three days. One in the classroom and two on the bikes and we also are approved for a motorcycle license if you pass the course. Best money I ever spent.

You will remember and use all things taught, eventually. However, by this time next year will have built enough self confidence that you will start to not follow what you learned in class. Resist the temptation. Remember everything you have learned and apply it every time you hit the road! This info will help keep you safe and rubber on the road.
