2008 raising dog bone, WoW!

I never would have thought $30.00 could make such an improvement. Hello all im new to the site and forums in general so please bear w/ me. Anyway last Friday I find a place called Burkhart cycle online they are located here in the midwest, well the are selling lowering and raising links for all klr models and at only $22.00! Plus shipping of course. Well i got them Monday so shipping was fast. And installing them was a breeze (just be sure to have a way to lift the bike and keep it stable without the rear swingarm travel being obstructed, you must be able to raise and lower swing arm while removing and installing the bolts) i used the 2x4 a jackstand and a floor jack route. Worked great probably not the safest route to be sure. but in a pinch it works. Anyway the install was smooth, the links are made of aluminum and are a precice fit even the counter bores for the bolt head and nut are exact. No binding or slop. (I was worried about this design feature but worked and should help strength ) . Now the best part of it is when i took the first ride i was and still am blown away by the change in ride feel. I weigh 234lbs without gear so i have always had issues with stock setup on 5 preload not cutting it. I couldn't afford the new spring right now but might not need it. Now i can actually use the entire preload range of settings even 1 works for a super soft ride if needed. I seem to have no real drawbacks except maybe slower steering by a bit, barely noticeable. Also helps eliminate the rocking front to back when getting on brakes or throttle, seems to help the bikes overall composure. Feels better and rides better. If you weigh less than me by much I would try the next step down i used the one with the most effect there is one other length between stock and the taller one i used. They also sell stock length and lowering links too for various bikes klx on there too. I will add to this as i get more" trail data" .
