What did you pay?

hello. I am in the market for a new 2009 KLR. I was wondering if any of you got a lower price than the MSRP? Out here in California..they tend not to "deal" on popular bikes. What about "dealer freight and set up"...is that just a scam to make more on the motorcycle? Thanks..any helpful advice appreciated.

I think Freight and set up is probably about 300.00 more than it actually cost them, They sometimes only get 1-2 bikes at a time and depending on where they were shipped from, It can cost around 3 to 400 dollars for the delivery then add the one to two hours it takes the wrench at a retail cost of 80.00 per hour to the shop for make ready per bike, How ever if you are just buying a bike with out trading in means they have room to work with, They can and will come off msrp if you come in to purchase, If your trading in, They will offer retail for retail with all extra Frt.assembly included in there bike. What is the SCAM is when you purchase a used bike and they want to tack on the multi-point inspection fee of 237.00 for not doing anything. SZ.

I was wondering if anyone has bought a new 09, and got it less than the MSRP, and only had to pay plus tax and license? No freight set up charges..documentation, etc.

Just picked up my new Red '09 yesterday. $5500 plus tax OTD. Much better than earlier this summer when they were holding at MSRP plus setup/destination.
