Smile doohickey

Just bought a 2005 KLR 650 with 14500 miles -- is there a way to know if the doohickey has been changed or do I need to take apart!!

You will just be able to see the bottom edge of the doohickey. The photos above are upside down, but look at the color difference in the metal. Also, loosen the adjuster bolt and push the doohickey counter clockwise to see if you can see the hook of the torsion spring in the left side of the slot.o

If you need the tools to do the doo, let me know. I bought the whole set up from Eagle Mike's and, now that it's done, don't need the tools (I hope).

We need to set up a "loaner tool" thread.
