Klr650 C model Tank

Good afternoon,

I am here for a while but nto posted as have just bough a spanking clean klr650 c model last week.

I am now going annoy everyone and ask the same old questiong, how the hell can i extend my miles on the tank.

I know the tanks for the c model are now out of production but has anyone tried any other tanks?

I will post up some pics of my new baby soon

I just found a C model for sale. I am going to go take a peek. But I too was wondering what type of part swapping between the A and the C model. I was looking at the IMS tank as a possible swap and apparently it can be done (but they say there is a seat modification needed)
As for the C model, I think it was released here and not in the States, but I may be wrong.

It was available in Canada, most of Europe, and Australia, but not in the US. Personally, I think the US was short-changed.

One of you guys has to put up a photograph of this "C" model because I'm curious as I can be.

Is it different from my 06 red and silver KLR? If so how?

From the KLR650 FAQ site:

The main differences are:

Better front brakes (Twin-pot caliper)
Heavier (370 lbs dry)
Smaller tank
Different rear subframe
Larger front forks (no air assist)
Different rear shock (5 position preload adjustment only)
No tachometer
No temp gauge (just an idiot light)
Steel rims
Handlebar mounted headlight
Overall better looks (ok, maybe that's just my opinion )
