Do you all name your bikes?

Call me superstitious but every car or motorcycle that I've ever owned has always given me problems before I've given it a name. And my new KLR is no different

What are some of the names you've given your KLR's? TBH, I can't decide if it's a girl or boy. I usually give girl names but I'm leaning boy because it's kind of like the jeep or tractor of motorcycles.

I had a truck I called "The Boss" - although I think a cute chick first called it that. My girls call my focus Blacker (it's black, we once got a rental car they called redder - very creative). I've owned other cars, vans, mopeds, scooters, multiple MCs (including a gorgeous 73 Honda). Never named a bike. Never occurred to me. I wonder why.

I call mine 'the KLR' or 'the Bike' - good question. I have nicknames for some of my friends' KLRs.

AKA JD Mader or you can call me "Dan" just not early for dinner.

In high school I had a 62 Ford stepside named Agnes, and later a Ranchero named Torch because it kept catching on fire. Maxx is the name of my 09 KLR.

I guess I'm not into naming my vehicles. We use creative names like, 'the KLR', 'the Jeep', 'the Road Glide', or 'the Sportster'. Not sure those qualify as names, just an identifier.

My wife calls my KLR 'the plastic bike'. Does that count?

Names

Can't really think of a good name for my KLR, but I say after every long ride, " Thanks sweety for a good ride". ( not trying to be sexist ! )
It does help her start right up for the next ride.

You need to perform a purification ceremony, using two live birds, slaughter one bird over a clay pot filled with fresh water, then take the live bird, a cedar stick, a scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered. Sprinkle the blood of the dead bird seven times on the KLR. When the blood has purified the KLR, release the live bird to fly away.

Take the risk of thinking for yourself , much more happiness , truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way. Hitchens
