Good or bad deal

I was going to trade a 2000 nissan xtera with 160,000 miles on it for a 2002 klr650 with 17,000 miles on it. The bike has a pipe and jetted with a KN filter. All maint. was supposed to have been done at a dealer. Is this to many miles for a 1 piston motor and should I stay away from this deal. People are offering me 2700. to 3000 grand for the truck. I could always sell it and buy something with less miles. Any advice appreciated.

If it were me, I'd sell the truck and then pick the bike I want. I think you can find KLRs with a lot less miles on them than that 2002 for that kind of money.

Deals are out there, be patient. In O7 we bought an 05 KLR for my wife with 7K on it and every conceivable mod even the progressive suspension front & rear! Panniers, the works. In short more mods than mine has and the list below covers that.

The owner did all the work and the bike is perfect.
