It's been a while since I posted, thought I'd share my latest ride!! LOL
Well, today I finally dug the KLR out. It had been sitting since last fall. I decided it was time to take it out for a spin and get the cobb webs off.
I was doing really well at first. Went to Honda to order the brake pads for the ST then did a nice little ride. Then it happened. I actually got stuck and had to call hubby to come and help me get un stuck!! LOL I have to say it was kind of embarrassing. A mail man went by, but I pretended I was just goofing off. Then another car went by and again, I just was goofing off! LOL I even heard my neighbor take off on his Harley, boy I wished he had come my direction, but he didn't! LOL He is a squid on a bike, but I knew he could ride my KLR out of it's position! LOL I tried getting off the bike and using it's power to get out of the predicament, but that just put me up against concrete! So, as I waited for hubby to come help me out, I took this pic!

Yep, got stuck in my own ditch!!!!!

LOL
I had gone threw the ditch before with no problems. Only thing was, I went threw a deeper section of the ditch and there was a little bit of concrete toward the top. I think I was going a bit to slow and when the rear tire got to the concrete, it just started to spin. The dirt was still to soft and it just filled in the tires tread, making it a slick! LOL I was able to get out of that mess, but when I tried a different line of attack, it failed too. That is how I ended up against the concrete driveway. I think if I had all my gear on, I may have tried a bit harder, but since I didn't I played it safe. Better to call and be embarrassed that I got stuck, then to get hurt!! I know I'm not going to hear the end of this for a while, hubby will be all over it!!
I only had my shorts and a tshirt on. I think I would have tried a little harder if I would have had my gear on. When I first went to park the bike, I wasn't even planning on going threw the ditch, it was a last minute decision. Guess this is why one should be with ATGATT all the time, even to just park the bike! LOL Yes, I had ATGATT on during my initial ride, just had parked the bike and went out later to put it away!
I also learned something else during this fiasco! I can pick the KLR up by myself!!!

When I was first trying to go up by the driveway, it got to an angle that I just couldn't hold up while on the bike. I had to lay it down, then pick it back up!!! That is when I decided to try to get it out while off the bike, but that didn't work either. The tire just slid and I got the side of the bike wedged into the concrete.
So, I guess you could say, one never knows when they will get into a predicament while riding a DS. So be prepared!! I didn't have to use my SPOT LOL, but I did have to use my cell phone! LOL Luckily I had service next to my house!!! LOL
