On my way to Argentina and had battery problems...opinions?

Hey guys, I'm in Puebla ,Mexico right now on my way to Argentina. A couple of days ago I found my battery dead in the morning. I figured it had to be a short in on of accessories, so I removed the fuses to the USB And cigarette lighter. Then push started it. Next day dead again. At a truck stop getting gas, I got tired of asking people to help me push and thought I would just take the tank and seat off and go through it. I found that the battery was out of water. The only water they had was bottled water, so I used that. I know it's best to use distilled but thats not even close to being an option. My question is will my battery last or should I look for a replacement in the next big town? Probably Guatemala.

Depends on the purity of the water. I have used tap many times in a pinch but only when it was just low, not "out of water".
I'd run with it and see how it goes. If you see it's cranking slower than normal then get an AGM to replace it with and enjoy the benefit of no more water level worries.

My recommendations: Get yourself a new battery ASAP; at least a sealed AGM, at most a LITHIUM one.

Also, put one of these in your tank bag: https://www.cyclegear.com/accessorie...backup-battery

Wouldn't consider a remote trip without one; you'll thank me later!
