Maybe. It was surely a pain in the ass to get that boot back on. I'll get a can of starting fluid and spray it around there at idle, see what happens.

Nooo!

I don't think you understand. I'm referring to an internal vacuum leak of the diaphragm, more so than an external leak. I don't believe one will be able to detect a diaphragm vacuum leak by spraying the exterior with anything.
And Starting fluid is very dangerous around your exhaust pipe!

You need to read this linked thread & its links about the CVK carb, https://www.klrforum.com/how-tos-tec...ing-cvk40.html

I'll try to find video by Tom Schmitz aka Souperdoo.
Here are the videos you need to watch,https://www.klrforum.com/199609-post5.html

Finished putting the rear suspension back together after cleaning, inspecting, and greasing everything. Then started on replacing my rear tire. The Avon Trailrider is the hardest bead I've ever had to deal with. Just getting the old tire off felt like a major accomplishment.

Wow. Not often you see PA have the same December temperature as southern Alabama. Dagum
