Bike Security

We are planning to take our bikes to Gatlinburg, TN using our truck and trailer. It is only 4 hours from home but my 15 and 14 year old son and daughter are taking theirs also so riding is out of the question. Any suggestions about how to keep the bikes safe while at the hotel? This will be our first trip with our bikes and I know a lot of you have taken trips. Thanks for any help.

Lock the bikes together through the frame. I also have a disc lock that has an alarm on it, so if the bike is moved at all an alarm goes off. Pretty slick.

and lock your trailer to your truck. Also a receiver lock so it can't be removed. If at all possible back the trailer up to something too, like a retaining wall, fence or building. If other bikes are around park near them also, chances are they will be keeping an eye on their stuff too and the more eyes looking out for low-lifes the better. Sounds like a fun trip for all.

I've got one of these:®.htm

It's amazing how well it fits the KLR. Goes through the rear wheel and the linkage on the rear suspension.

I take the key out and the GPS off the bike... That's about it.. Occasionally, I'll lock the front end all the way to one side..
But I also politely ask the hotel desk if I can park my motorcycle very close to the front door for security reasons? I've never had anyone say "no"..
