Thermo-Bob

Just a short review of the Thermo-Bob for anyone that cares.

I put the TB in last January because the temp gauge would barely stay above the cold mark riding in the 30 to 40 degree range (how do you type a "degree" symbol anyway?). After the installation the gauge read steady at just south of the middle all the time.

Now after not really paying attention for the last 6 months I was riding today in 100+ temperatures and noticed that the gauge was still reading right in the middle. The only exception is being stopped for a long period and the fan kicks in at about 3/4 up the scale.

Kind of a PITA to install but the instructions provided by the Watt-Man are the best, you cant go wrong as long as you follow them!

Along with controlling coolant temp you are also maintaining a more even oil temp which is probably even more important.

Just my .02 (OK, so how do I insert a "cent" symbol?)

when you say it was a PITA, do you mean it was difficult, or just tough squeezing all the parts into the right places?
I'm thinking I'm about to do this one, too. I like all the benefits, and the pics I've seen make it look like it really "belongs" on the bike.

Yeah, just tight quarters fitting it all in the right places.

Well, me and my fat fingers are going to try to find time this summer to do several of the mods.. The doo, thermobob, and probably the pcv valve thing.
Now all I have to find is the time.

Hee Hee...

Watch out for popups at this site... I'm sure there's better ones out there for this..
http://www.internetfamilyfun.com/int...aractermap.htm

Or go to http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm and just hold the ALT button while typing 0 (zero) and the 3 digit code you want.. For degree, hold ALT and type 0176 and it'll pop on your screen..

This info isn't or but will cost you a few if I find you in the UK..
