How Cheap can you get?

I thought we needed a "How Cheap Are You" Thread.

Of course I'll go first.

I was looking for small side bags to attach to my crash bars, but croaked every time I looked up the prices (Cdn $$)

I found these Military Tactical Drop Leg Bags on Amazon for $10.00 Cdn.

Presently out of stock as I bought the last 4, two for my buddy's KLR.

The material is supposedly waterproof, but there are two drain grommets in the bottom. There are 3 attachment points which should hold it securely to the crash bars.

I wanted these for spare tubes, air compressor, towels, gloves, etc. All the extras you need to repair a tire. So it doesn't matter if they get wet, (I'm using large zip lock baggies to keep things dry)

I did a dry run, putting 2 tubes and a bathroom hand towel in one (still room for more) and attached it to the bike. They appear to be very securely mounted.

Oh, this is just too easy, Brian.

The past 3 rear tires on my personal bike have been removed from others bikes, way to early to justify disposal IMO.
1st one was an Avon Gripster which gave me over 4700 Free Miles! That's half of that tires life.
2nd one was an OEM Dunlop K750, 1900 Free Miles. Again I used up the bottom half.
And currently on another Dunlop K750, currently 1400 Free Miles & more to be traveled, if I so choose. But I could install a used Dunlop Trailmax or another Avon Gripster if I find myself in the mood.

On the front is a used K270 that I've put 3700 miles on and it may go another 3700 if I reverse it soon.
I have the matching front Dunlop Trailmax. Maybe I ought to install both the front & rear Trailmax's so I can say that I have sampled a true Street tire set-up on my KLR?

The trade off is I have been spending an extra $28 for laboratory oil analysis on each the last 4 oil changes.

How cheap???

How cheap can you get, you ask.
You should see my "junk box". I constantly "re-purpose" stuff.

I once built a garage from lumber from an old barn, and re-used a lot of the old nails.
(When my son needed punishment, he was set to work straightening nails.) He's real good with a hammer now.
I think he actually enjoyed himself. He brings it up now and again, and we have a good laugh.
