Stuck Float, I think???

Bike wont idle right, back off on throttle, it quits, fuel runs out of tube at bottom, runs ok down the road. Tapped the float bowl, drained the float bowl, got a couple of really small crud out. If I put a tube on the nipple on the bottom of the float bowl and open the drain screw and give a good blow would that maybe free up the float? I am going to rebuild & re jet the carb but can't do it for a week or so. Any ideas for the interm???
