What's the longest trip you ever taken (on a KLR 650)
Wondering how long and far, any of you hard core riders have gone on one road trip.

In 05 I rode my KLR from Middlesboro KY to Key West FL and back, in 06 I rode from Middlesboro to San Diego CA and back, and in 07 I rode it to Venice FL and back.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

My longest trip has only been 700 miles round trip to San Diego and back.

+/- 2600 mile round trip in 10 days last month, averaging 350 miles per day. Longest day was 450, shortest was around 250. Rode for 6 days straight, rested for 2 days, and finished off the last 400 miles on days 9 and 10.

Thanks for the info guys. I've had my '08 since May '08 and so far I've gone on short 150 mile rides. I just can't get over the fact I get this great reliability and performance from one cylinder.

Just imagine what kind of reliability we'd get with an extra cylinder and a spare gear...

My longest trip was 1000 miles in four days, but it was really two four hundred mile days with two days of fun thrown in.

Yeah Tom, imagine a KLR 1300 V twin 6 speed; that would have some wicked torque.

Question. For those of you who spend quite a bit of time on the freeway on your trips, have you changed either of your sprockets, and if so, what works best for you?

Thanks. I recently purchased an 08 and love it, other than it pulls some high RPMs on the freeway.
