Looking to buy first KLR 650

I've been looking at Dual Sports and like the KLR the best for my use. How many miles can a KLR expect to last with mostly road use?

KLRs will last forever if taken care of. My last KLR ('92) was running strong after 160,000kms (100,000m)...before I sold to fund an '08. It was used off-road quite a bit so this should give you some idea of it's longevity. Lokk after it and it'll look after you.

Just as a reference... I would never have bought a KLR if it was going to be mostly road use or even just maintained forest roads. Far better bikes for that purpose.

I don't know if your hinting, but as before with others requesting info about a KLR... we need way more information about your plans before saying yeah or neah to a KLR being the right bike. Sounds like you've already chosen it though.

Yep. Agree. Consider what you'll be using the bike for first is a good point. Be clear in your application and then narrow the bikes down that are best suited for that application.
