Paint question

Has anyone painted the motor and side covers with any success? I really like the look of the all black models (frame, rims, motor, forks, strut). I'm not messing with the rims and I didn't plan to remove motor. Thinking to spray, conservatively , with some high temp stuff. Thanks for any input and opinions.

You'd have to clean it real good, sand it down, prep it really, really well, man, I'm tired just thinking about it. That's one of those "I seriously have nothing better to do for a week" kinda things. I wish I had time for those kinda things.

I wouldn't rattle can the covers, they'd be a mess before long. As shaky6 says, and good preparation will suffice for a two-part spray job.

unless you remove the motor, degrease it, scuff it and paint it properly it's going to look much worse than it does now. .......as a friend is fond of saying; put it down and step AWAY from the spray can! LOL

Yes, you would need to degrease and then lightly sand blast the cases for good paint adhesion. And then use a paint designed for engines. A home spray can job will likely start flaking and looking really bad in short order.
