Bike dies on the highway multiple times

Need a little help. I have a 2018 with 900 miles on it. It has been running flawless until I installed crash bars, as I had to take off the tank. Probabbly my fault. I didn't like the short hose going to the T, off the petcock. So I put in a longer one that isn't the tightest fit and used zip ties to tighten it. I went for a 40 mile ride in 60-65 degree weather, no problems at all. On the way back it was 70-75 degree weather and about 5 miles down the highway the bike died. ( full tank of fuel) After sitting a minute it started right up and idled perfect. again it died about 5 miles, and after sitting it seemed to start and run perfect again. It died 2 more times then I started to use the choke on full when loosing power and was able to get it home. ( what does that second hose do) I did get the right hose but haven't installed it yet. Or could I have water in the fuel, as I did get some dry gas also. could I have something blocking the float bowl or a sticky float bowl. It seems fuel related.
850ish flawless miles till I put the crash bars on
Thanks for any help or sugestions

You could also have a vacuum leak due to the ill-fitting hose. Replace the hose and go from there.

THANK YOU. FOUND IT .... I tossed on the cheap plastic hose (longer one) till I got to parts store. Wile installing the correct fuel hose and clamps. I found that the cheap plastic hose I used kinked and that,, that second hose has to create vacume to let fuel flow. As with the petcock turned on and hoses disconnected, fuel wont flow till that second hose makes vacume, then fuel flows.
MY BAD. im 2 for 2 dumb things. Im going to start my comedy/mess up thread.
1st the strange orange oil leak that was pepper spray leaking from the tool place on the back rack
2nd the don't do things cheap and dirty fuel hose.
I don't understand why I didn't mess anything up when I put on the 17 tooth front sprocket.
And 1 oil change that I didn't mess up.
