Well, so far the airhorn is waiting on me to make a bracket. Had to order a fusable link. Funny how it always turns into alot more than the original plan had intended.
If i can get my buddies atv fixed and out of the way, i should have my horn done this weekend.

Installed the Krono adjustable windshield mount and I love it.......but I hate those spikes.

I don't know what I hate more...those spikes or the permanent modification to remove them.

I installed a Ricochet skid plate last night. Took about 20 minutes.
I drilled a couple holes in it and added a plastic shield to keep the spray off the front of the engine.
The skid plate fit well and is very well made.

Insured the KLR today and took it for a ride after being parked for five months.
As soon as I put my feet on the pegs I noticed the difference with them being an inch lower and an inch further back.
Definitely an improvement! The next thing I noticed was first gear did not seem way too low any more.
The sixteen tooth front sprocket was a big improvement too. The engine seems happier and the torque seems the same.
I haven't tried it at highway speeds yet maybe tomorrow.

I ordered a Delkevic exhaust for mine today since mine is basically falling apart and blown out.

So today I installed the ThermoBob kit on my KLR650. Wanted to run the engine with the tank off to burp out any air voids. How to run the engine with the tank off. I looked up on the toolbox and spied the perfect thing, a big ol syringe I got from Amazon to help with brake job bleeding. I plugged it right into the fuel line to the carb and zip tied it to the frame . It had gas in it about 20 minutes and while I was worried it would get slimy from the gas , it stayed ok.

For some reason, I can open every thumbnail photo on this thread except yours, but the thumbnail make these look awful!
I never heard of a Kronos windshield mount before. I did some searching and found nothing else that showed those spikes including the Kronos website. (Though it's hard to tell what's going on with the crappy photos they have...)
It's hard to imagine they were designed to present large stabby spikes to the rider.
Are you sure you got the right mount for the KLR?

Making Plans

Received my IMS Super Stock footpegs today. Next addition will be VPS Barkbusters. Viewed a few videos on other brands and installation issues that went along with them. That helped justify the cost of the Barkbusters. The fact that they are not a universal "fit" is paramount. Now - finding a place that has them in stock is my next hurdle.

Rebuilt Carb on my 84 KLR 600

I rebuilt my carb and changed out my plunger. Got the buke running ok, but its dumping a little in 2nd gear and is backfiring a little..... is she not getting enough fuel? I opening the air/mix screw a little bit and I thought I got some results but its still backfiring at higher RPMs. Ive struggled with float height to get it just right, is it possible I need to adjust the float some more?
