Yes SIR Drill Sar-GENT!

So, yeah, my bike is backfiring and I don't know why. But I decided to forget about that for today cause I was hearing the call. It sounded a bit like Hoo-Rah. And yeah, I don't know if they're are sergeants in the Marines, and my dad spent almost 30 years in the Navy, so I should...but he ain't here now is he.

First impressions of the Sarge. It is one nicely made seat. Quality all the way around. It fit perfect. Much easier to put on than the stocker (hey, it's for sale, I should stop denigrating it). Anyway, went on in five minutes. I took a 25 mile ride...probably on the seat for an hour. Had to give my Honda some attention. It is firmer and softer at the same time. That doesn't make sense. But the fact that it doesn't make sense doesn't make it a lie. It is wider, and there is more of a flair out for the old ass than I expected. My stock seat started bothering my back about ten minutes into a ride and my ass about an hour. The Sargent feels nice...my back felt good. Ass felt sweet.

The most interesting thing is that it dramatically changed my posture on the bike. I am a slumper by nature, and I slump on my bike, but something about the Sarge...less incline like SLO said..I don't know, but sitting straight felt right. Going on a longer ride tomm and will update, but I am pretty stoked so far.

on the head pipe...

If you just polished the steel to LOOK like chrome.... well then, you get to keep your cheapKLR rider card... if not .. hand in the card or get out the flat black rattle can...

Whew. No, I don't polish. But I did wash the bike today. It looked a lot more KLRish yesterday.

If you hadn't been out fishing for the last four years, you'ld know that the 08's have a stainless header pipe and guard.

Backfiring...Is the headpipe loose either at the engine or where the pipe mates to the muffler?
I know yer carb's dialed in, but has the exhaust been off lately?

Mine pops just once in a while since I punched a hole in the silencer, but
not enough to even think about.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeap

P.S. Just fer giggles, I may add chrome handlebar clamps or
something ridiculous like that. Still, the gloss black brakes look way cool
and I haven't gotten to the rear brake lever yet since blizzard season
got started.
