Bad zippers!

I bought three items from Moto Direct called the EXL brand, and while the items themselves were OK, the zippers all failed, and some were YKK brand. Is it me, or are there different grades of zippers on stuff? I now need a good jacket, due to the fact that when I tried to alternate liners, the zippers literally fell off. Good Grief! Help!

sarthurk -

I had exactly the same experience with EXL. The clothing, made in Pakistan, was pretty good stuff. Lot's of clothing comes from Pakistan. The zippers were bad.

None of mine were YKK, though, and I've never seen a bad YKK.

Thanks Tom!
I'm looking now at a sea of opportunities. It's hard to tell what might be worthwhile, but I know now that the $$ may be related to the quality...D'oh!

I may be wrong on YKK on all of the failures, but one for sure. Next stop, not moto direct.

Any chance that you could get them fixed or replaced under warranty?

I too had some zipper issues with Moto Direct stuff. I returned them and they replaced the item. I don't think I'll buy there again though. My zippers were not YKK's.
