Maintenance Weekend

Saturday, couldn't stand the noise anymore so I finally pulled the chain, soaked and cleaned it in diesel and changed the from sprocket from a 14t to a 15t.

Sunday, Replaced the idle screw with a "t" handle one and installed the "T" air vent mod on the carb. Adjusted the doohickey for good measure too.

Made a gas cap knob.

Installed Cee bailey +7" shield

Installed grip heaters, the time is coming. Switch on the wiring cover on the front of the instrument panel.

Waiting for new grips, they didn't spare the glue putting the originals on.

Cleaned and lubed the chain, then went for a short ride.

Got tired of my wife complaining about our white dogs always getting chain grease on their backs when they're in the basement with the KLR, so crafted up this "chain guard."

My chain/dog toy magnet in its usual pristine condition:

My "chain guard." Hopefully no more reverse skunk-striped dogs along with a pissed-off wife with a bottle of Dawn in one hand and a cast-iron skillet being waved about in a threatening manner in the other. Don't have to worry about forgetting it: it makes one hell of a racket if you try to move the bike with it on there.......

Garage
I thought about the bike a lot today. Stuck at work on a 60 hour stint, and plan on grabbing it first thing Wednesday morning and getting a cup of coffee somewhere.

At least 50 miles away from here.

Rode it to work! Gotta take advantage of the days I can ride, because all too soon, it's going to be too damn cold to ride.

I hear 'ya, I'm riding mine to work today and should be able to all week. Maybe I'll finally get that gas mileage check computed!
