Fairing switch

Will a fairing off of a 2008 fit on a 07?

No, not without a lot of hassle. Here's how it goes:

I think you'd have to take not only the fairing, but the structural member that it attaches to, and the instrument cluster. Then, the fairing ties into the radiator covers, so you'd need those, too. They tie into the tank, so you'd need an '08 tank. They also tie into the radiator as part of the support, so you might need to swap out the radiator. There might be other stuff, but you get the idea.

Oooooh, yes! The only limit is your imagination.

There have been transplants from Buells, GSXRs, some of those funky lookin' scooter things, and so on.

It's even possible to actually get usable light out of the swap, too.

If I find some links, I'll drop 'em on ya.

I'd like to bump this thread to see if anyone knows whether or not I could more easily convert my '09 to '07 fairings. I think the tabs on my tank would be exposed, but is the radiator, coolant reservoir fit under the smaller side fairings? Also, is the newer headlight support bracket usable? I would make the conversion if it only required minor tweaks like bracket cutting and maybe a weld or two.

Britannia Lynx, custom fit. Work in progress! I would like to redo it with a better fit and finish.
