Cool Why I love Colorado and my KLR

So again thanks to everyone for your advice and help on my "new 96" which is, and I swear to this, is almost farkled out. I am so sore right now here at ~ 9PM Colorado time as I've ridden the bike for ~ 150 miles. Started at my home in Longmont, CO @ ~ 5400 feet altitude and rode up to Peak to Peak highway for lunch which is ~ 9300 feet. This AM I had to take off the carb and fix the float which I will tell in another tech note about the problems of just twisting it in the rubber mounts and then bolted everything up and took off. Attached are some fine photos but I do want to let everyone know the dynojet high altitude kit, coupled with the total FMF Q4 system is awesome for me at least. About 20 miles of today's ride was off road in the Rooselvelt National Forwests and I absolutely loved it. Anyway more tomorrow and I'm off to soak in the tub for awhile.

Cheers,

John

PS: Tomorrow is my last vacation day and I hope to get the GPZ1100 ready to ride for the season, then the BIG work will be getting the VRod ready.

Farkled probably WAY too much, but good 20' footer for sure. '96 KLR, '06 HD VROD, (girl friend hauler), '05 HD Electra-Glide, heh it's a HD and I'm old now ;-) and I'm proud of riding a 800+ pound bike at my age :-)

Bike looks good, what tires you running? They look pretty knobby?? I need to find one of these bikes soon, I am itching to get out.

Pirelli MT21, that the PO had just installed prior to my purchase. I was worried they would be too aggressive for street duty but they handy just fine. As other's told me, they are wearing pretty quickly but that's probably due to them being pretty good in the snow and mud thus far. Yep, if you want one you should be looking as once spring is really here the better deals will all be gone.

Cheers,

John
