What to do? Help lol with decision.

Ok as you guys know I've had my shadow up for sale. Well looks like it will be gone tonight. I went Kawasaki dealer here in st Louis mo. And he told me I can get the 2009 blue or black or red they have all three for $4800 out the door. I keep seeing used 09's for $3800-4100 with millage on them on craigslist and other sites. Should I go with new and is this good price. $4800 for new versus used for few hundred less I'd go for new. But every few hundred is more I get to keep. So main question is. Is $4800 a good price are should I look around more. Thanks all.

I have seen them for as low as $4500 new but if you can get one for hundreds less that has some mods already done I would say that is the way to go.

This is a tough one. I went through the same thing when I got my bike. My wife convinced me to buy new. I don't know if I would do the same thing again, but if money isn't a huge issue, there is something satisfying about knowing that you're doing the break in, etc.

Ya true that does worry me. I've seen many of my friend just get their new bike and go crazy with the rpm's. Dirt bikes when I was young and harleys now. I'm prob. Going to go with the new one, now I just have to decide what color.

Lol it's blue or black. The blue reminds me of my teens on my yamaha it 175. I like black best but the memories.

for a couple hundred bucks I agree about getting to do the break in yourself. your going to spend way more than that down the line fixing what somebody left you with. I was out the door in seattle for around 4495. push a little harder, wish i would have. I went back a month later and saw that they still had 45+ '09s sitting there. its 2010 and they should be happy to sell for a little less.

Are you paying cash or financing? The interest rates between buying new or used could answer your question.

NEVER FORGET!

I'm a used buyer.. But, you HAVE to be patient!!
Buy when you're getting a deal, or wait for the deal, period!!

Here's how bad I am..

I waited 10 years to find the BMW I wanted at the price I was willing to pay.. Yeah, I have patience..

8 months earlier I bought a new Goldwing off the floor for the same reason.. Big discount, low interest rate, and they gave me $1500 more for the bike I was trading in than I had paid for it.

A year later, I found a bike I desired, a 1996 VFR 750 for $2600..

And I bought my 2002 KLR used in 2004 for $2000 less than they were selling for new, with 1300 miles on it..

Like I said, you have to have patience.. Wait for the deal, even if it means going without a bike for a short period. It will pay off in the end!
