Mounting Kenda 761 Tires

Well I just got my front and rear Kenda 761s for my 2008 KLR. At 4500miles the rear Dunlap was toast. The front was good for a few thousand more. In the past motorcycle tires I bought had a red circle stamped on the tires which was to line up with the air valve on the rim. Both of these tires have no such mark. The only mark they have is a silver circle with QC/4 in it. I assume this is a quality control mark. If there is now red circle on the the tire what is the proper way to mount it. Thanks griffy

I don't recall ever seeing such a mark on mine. When I mounted them, I lined up the "Kenda" logo with the valve stem, just so's I'd know how to put it back on and not have to rebalance it (edit - after the initial balance...).

Thumbs up

Hello Griffy, when I bought my Kenda/s I was told to use the silver circle as the "red dot". So far I have not noticed any bounce or ill handling. Its been about 1500 miles since the change.

thanks Tom and Extrooper. I was thinking that maybe the silver circle was being used as the red dot and thats what I was going to go with. I got the same answer on another forum on the Silver Circle. griffy

Agreed. That was just off the top of my head when I saw the thread title.
We have to set good examples for all participants.
